Re: MLP - The Multi-Lingual Publishing Pack
hmmm should i start my own thread with questions about this plugin? we’re at 125 pages haha!
anyways i’m just trying to make sure that it’s the right thing for my project. if i have created a form called “header” which spits out my navigation in english, how does MLP make it so that this header can be translated into french? i have installed the french language and tested it out – mysite.com/fr is working. thanks

Re: MLP - The Multi-Lingual Publishing Pack
Hi mrtunes,
You can start using MLP snippets, which are short chunks of texts that can be easily translated.
To create a MLP snippet, you simple put in your page/form template something like this, for example:
##phone##
Then, you go to “Content -> MLP -> Snippets” and from there, you can translate the snippet.
Try it and come back if you need more help.

Re: MLP - The Multi-Lingual Publishing Pack
thank you maniqui that worked very easily :)
now i’m wondering which tag i use to put the language in the navigation bar. i’m looking at the conditional tag – if i’m on the english page it needs to say francais, if i’m on that page it needs to say english.

In the /plugins/sources folder, there are the 3 php files. Which directory should those be uploaded to? I’ve already copied and pasted the 3 text files from the /plugin folder and installed them as plugins.

i dont think those files matter – maybe they’re for people who want to build on the plugin but for using it.
thanks Els, i was having a hard time making sense of that section in the help file. this plugin has been rather impressive to me so far.

Re: MLP - The Multi-Lingual Publishing Pack
Does commenting work ok with MLP-installations? For example, are recent comments separated to langs they belong when showing them on the frontpage?

Re: MLP - The Multi-Lingual Publishing Pack
I’m getting the following error. Anybody familiar with this? It started occuring after I tried to translate an article;
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare zem_contact_gtxt() (previously declared in /nfs/c02/h04/mnt/41882/domains/txpkingsley.sachistudio.com/html/textpattern/lib/txplib_misc.php(570) : eval()’d code:2) in /nfs/c02/h04/mnt/41882/domains/txpkingsley.sachistudio.com/html/textpattern/lib/txplib_misc.php(570) : eval()’d code on line 76Offline

Re: MLP - The Multi-Lingual Publishing Pack
Have you installed both zem_contact_lang plugins? (the one “standalone” and the one that comes bundled with MLP).
If so, try removing the “standalone” one.

Re: MLP - The Multi-Lingual Publishing Pack
sorry i have another question. i have read the help file.
i cant really understand how you deal with the translation of an entire section. if i have a section called “help”, i have the choice of making a snippet in the navigation bar called ##help## and i can have that translated for each version of the site. but once i want help to link to a <txp:section>, it could be cumbersome. i’m a little lost now but i’m sure the solution to this is easy.
