Are custom fields searchable?

Just wondering if they are or not?

Edit: Doesn’t look like they are. Anybody know of a plugin that sorts by custom field or that enables custom fields to be searched.

…. and sorting by custom field is a standard option. You can use sort=“custom_n” in your article tag where n is the custom field number.
