[request] Custom Fields for Files

I’m seriously interested in commissioning someone to work on a plugin for custom fields for files. I’ve seen a post in Texpattern Resources for adding custom fields by modding the txp install, I’m not totally against this, but the mod is for an old version of txp and does not apply to 4.0.8.

If someone can help me with either solving the mod solution or would like to dig in and work on a plugin, lets talk.

Thanks!

Tom, I think he’s asking custom fields for files, not files for custom fields ;)

Re: [request] Custom Fields for Files

If you want actual field=value things that people can enter against a file then you might be out of luck. But if you just want to tag files with information you could try smd_tags. And if you take it on and have questions about it, that will probably give me the motivation to fix the search/URL bugs I have found and release a better version asap.

Re: [request] Custom Fields for Files

I’ll have to take a look at smd_tags, may be a solution for the moment. Custom fields for files would be great for txp down the road, just the ability to have a “clean” file name minus the extension would be awesome.

Bloke, thanks! I’ll let you know how the plugin holds up,
