Somehow, My articles are not displaying
I’m a total textpattern noob. I’ve been fooling around using by slowly making modifications to a copy of the default page and style.
I’m not really sure what I did, but for some reason my article content is not displaying in my sections . . .or on my front page for that matter.
I think I did something dumb while mucking around. This is even the case when i revert back to the default page and style sheet.
The few test articles I wrote are marked as “live” and the sections they are categorized under are set to display on the front page.
. . . . Help?Offline

Re: Somehow, My articles are not displaying
By default, individual article display is handled by the form default via the tag <txp:article />
. To disply each individual article, you’d have something like the following in the corresponding form:
<h3><txp:permlink><txp:title /></txp:permlink> · <txp:posted /></h3>
<txp:body />
<p>— <txp:author /></p>
That’ll display your article’s title link, body content, followed by the author.
Most likely, your default form got messed up…
Here gives you a basic intro to article display.

Tag trace will help.

Re: Somehow, My articles are not displaying
Thanks for the suggestions, the tag trace tool is really useful.
I left the page alone for a few days, figuring that looking at it with fresh eyes would help.
And my content is displaying as expected. I can even move articles into different sections, and back, and things work.
So apparently, there was/is nothing wrong with my tags.
However, any new content I’ve written is not showing up. The same issue is occurring, the status is “live” and the individual article links work, but they are not being displayed in their proper sections.
any ideas?

How new is ‘new’? Could it be a caching issue? Is the time zone in Preferences set correctly? There is a setting in Advanced preferences: ‘Send “Last-Modified” header?’, you can try if setting it to ‘no’ makes a difference.

Re: Somehow, My articles are not displaying
“new” meaning anything I have written today as a test post. I checked the timezone, it’s correct. I set the ‘Send “Last-Modified” header?’, you can try if setting it to ‘no’ , and it made no difference. hmmm.

Re: Somehow, My articles are not displaying
I think I’m just going to try reinstalling, it’s the only thing I can think of at this point.

Re: Somehow, My articles are not displaying
Can you post the code you have on your page that doesn’t display the articles? Reinstalling seems like a lot of work that is probably not necessary. But without the code you are using it is hard to say what is the problem.

Re: Somehow, My articles are not displaying
the problem is not that content is not displaying, it’s that it isn’t displaying immediately, despite all settings set correctly, as far as I can tell.

Re: Somehow, My articles are not displaying
There is a difference between the urls posted in your first post and the real urls on site
ie
http://hallowseve.nfshost.com/hallowseve/3/zomg-first-post-111
returning a 404
http://hallowseve.nfshost.com/articles/3/this-is-another-test
working just fine
