hello- having blog like main page.. not full article.
hello im new to textpattern. i tried search but wasnt able to find what i wanted.
the problem i have is that the main page displays the full article- i want it to display just the main top bit 0 first couple of setences, and the rest with a read more link. thought this feature might be a standard feature.
hope someone can help
thank you

Just in case you can’t figure it out.
In your write panel their is a textarea called Excerpt! This is where you have those intro lines, and then for you form, use this tag
<txp:excerpt />

You can also use the Rob Sable plugin to grab an excerpt from articles with no data in the excerpt field.
Replace <txp:excerpt />
with <txp:rss_auto_excerpt />
(and include attributes to customize the output more), and you get an excerpt for any article, including a “read more” link. Articles that have data in the excerpt field already will display that data instead of generating one from body text.
There are myriad ways to customize the output of this tag, and it’s useful ina very wide variety of circumstances. It’s an essential plugin in my view.
