Styles puzzler - I'm losing it.

Site I’m just finishing up is gold in FF on Mac, but in Opera and Safari there’s no styles at all. They’re just off, literally!

I’ve checked the links and checked them thrice but I’m not seeing it.

I’m only using the default style and that’s it. The CSS isn’t anything bizarre.

The site was developed on a local root and then put on a live stage site in a sub-directory, but still that shouldn’t be interfering. Also the stage is password protected but again…Firefox working great.

What’s the obvious thing I’m missing?

Gotta run to get the kids, but will check back.

Re: Styles puzzler - I'm losing it.

Figured the mystery out.

The w3c’s validator didn’t catch it. Firefox 3 didn’t care about it. But every other modern browser including IE dropped the styles completely.

I only discovered it by using Opera’s built in validator (I’m assuming that’s what it was, didn’t really pay attention.)

A space between closing dashes and v-bracket of a comment: <!-- foo -- >

Not an easy one to spot if the validators don’t help. :)

Well, on the positive side, you’ve perhaps found a new css hack to serve styles to FF3 only :-)
