link rel="canonical": What are we going to make of it?
GYM announced1 a protocol regarding canonical URLs recently. We are looking for sound suggestions on how to let this microformat diffuse into the Textpattern core.

Re: link rel="canonical": What are we going to make of it?
this wil bring me back to a previous feature request regarding consistent urls in general category urls in particular as the rel="canonical"
should not just function for individual pages but for sections and categories too.

For TXP I don’t see much sense. Restricting search bot access to sections or other parts of a TXP site should be realized more easily and clean with robots.txt or ‘noindex’ instructions in the header.
Article list pages are not affected by this except cases where an article list only contains one (1) article and the article is not an excerpt.
The best article I came across today about rel="canonical"
was on SEOmoz.org.
