Re: Feedback on the Textpattern 4.0.8 release
I just updated an older site still on 4.0.3. After updating a few plugins such as upm_image, upm_image_popper and rss_thumbpop all was well.
The new, stricter parser uncovered a typo in one of my forms: I had…
<txp:if_article_list>
…
</txp:else />
…
</txp:if_article_list>
That should of course be <txp:else /> (without the slash) – user error ;-)

Re: Feedback on the Textpattern 4.0.8 release
Thanks a lot, great work.
But i have one problem after upgrading from 4.0.7 to 4.0.8
Since i’ve updated my site (http://81679.net/blog) it takes about 30 sec or more before a single article/commentfunction pops up …!!??
With 4.0.7. this never happend …
Any ideas ?

Re: Feedback on the Textpattern 4.0.8 release
I performed a 4.0.8 upgrade (from 4.0.6) on my local host and all the rss_admin_db_manager was working. Today I performed the 4.0.8 upgrade on my live site and the extension tab displays “restricted” and the 3 rss_admin_db_manager tabs are not present. Does that mean that the plugin is not updated for the new txp version? Why would the plugin work on the local host but not on the server? Thanks.
Edit New: the last time I performed an upgrade I needed to download a patched version from the forum — does anybody know if the wilshire version is more current that the patch on the rss_admin_db_manager forum that was compatible with the 4.0.7 update?

Re: Feedback on the Textpattern 4.0.8 release
I found the patched version from the rss_admin_db_manager forum thread and loaded it on 4.0.8 on the live site. Working now.
The patch that was updated for 4.0.6 is on this forum page and is working on my 4.0.8 upgrade

Re: Feedback on the Textpattern 4.0.8 release
Hi there. This may seem silly but a big part of my site’s design depends on the “→” tag to create arrows. Without it there are all these weird empty spots on my page.
Since upgrading to 4.0.8 (from 4.0.6) none of my little arrows appear. Any thoughts on why?

Re: Feedback on the Textpattern 4.0.8 release
What Textpattern tag is involved in the creation of those arrows?

Re: Feedback on the Textpattern 4.0.8 release
I’m using → or &larr in articles or forms using textile or HTML, respectively.

Re: Feedback on the Textpattern 4.0.8 release
- Could we have a look on any live site showing this behaviour?
- Post a sample Textile fragment
- Post the article form used to render those articles

Re: Feedback on the Textpattern 4.0.8 release
Sure. I may not do this correctly but I’m going to try.
1) http://urbanesque.org/ – the white boxes in the lower right of the top image should have right-facing arrows. Likewise, there are several posts that end in a link that should have right-facing arrows preceding the text (search for “View full size” to see an example.
2) For the “View full size” example, the fragment is as follows:
→ "View full size":http://www.flickr.com/photos/urbanesque/3207096425/sizes/o/
3) Same thing, for this the article form in the relevant section is as follows:
<h2 style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-weight: bold;"><a href="<txp:permlink />" title="<txp:title />"><txp:title /></a></h2>
<div class="supporting"><txp:permlink>#</txp:permlink> | posted <txp:posted /></div>
<div class="post">
<txp:if_article_list>
<txp:if_excerpt>
<txp:excerpt />
<div class="morelink"><txp:permlink>read more →</txp:permlink></div>
<txp:else />
<txp:body />
</txp:if_excerpt>
<txp:else />
<txp:body />
</txp:if_article_list>
</div>
<div class="supporting" style="margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 5px; background-color: #e7e7e7;"><span style=" font-size: 12px;"><txp:comments_invite showcount="1" textonly="0" /> | <txp:lam_addthis user="gogoguerilla" type="bookmark" wraptag="span" class="imagetop" /></span>
<br />
<br />
<txp:tru_tags_if_has_tags>
tagged as: <txp:tru_tags_from_article />
</txp:tru_tags_if_has_tags></div>

Re: Feedback on the Textpattern 4.0.8 release
I think you are having a client-side problem, as I see arrows all over the place:
