Re: rah_textile_bar
Very nice plugin and very handy at the moment for a site renewal.
Thanks!
And PS: Working without a problem in 4.0.8 (upgrade).
But I wonder why no one asked for a bar working in the excerpt area.
Is that possible? It needs to be additional, body and excerpt.
Or did I completely miss an obvious thing?

Re: rah_textile_bar
I’m using it with 4.0.8 too. Truly Amazing: powerful and light.
I think that adding the bar in the excerpt area would be redundant… and could slow down the thing… An improvement should be a better placement of the icons: I would suggest to put them over the whole text area (beside the word “Corpo”): actually the upper side-label (text) beside the text area (the other two are “html” and “preview”) appears beside the second row of the icons.
Take a look at my admin side (powered by nemoorange):
Maybe the better place should be between the body and the excerpt text areas: working with the text area currently active. In this case the bar would be closer to both imput areas.

Re: rah_textile_bar
You can push the side tabs down in your textpattern css by adding some padding-top to the “td#article-tabs” selector. I find about 170px works for my own style.

Re: rah_textile_bar
Hm, using the buttons in the excerpt field doesn’t work in my install.
Textile is active in both,
but if I work in the excerpt field and try to use one of those buttons it won’t do anything in the excerpt field, but instead will add a single mark * or _ or whatever in the body area.

Thank you.

It’s meant to do that and be that way – VIP for body.

Yep as thebombsite said, if you use custom styles, style it yourself to full-fill your custom needs :) Every user have their own preferences and likes and plus no one can know which styles you’re using. Styling the bar to specific location will cause messy results.

Of course and it’s title says that – I know.
But I’d like to extend its qualities to the nVIP excerpt ;-)
Or at least my clients would like. Obviously I cannot convince them, that adding those Textile-Shorthands manually is much more economical and ergonomic.
They want buttons.
So I’d like to give them good buttons.
A hint for me how to do it would perhaps be enough :-)

Re: rah_textile_bar
This is a brilliant plugin – just what I was looking for to help my clients who can’t be bothered to learn some simple markup. Ugh. Anyway, is it possible to skip the “rel” and “title” attributes for links. I KNOW they are proper sematics/accessibility and all that, but anyone who has worked with clients will know it will just be frustrating for them.
I looked around the code for the javascript, but couldn’t find any way to view and edit it.
Any help appreciated. I really want to get this client up and running and off my back!

Re: rah_textile_bar
Okay, I figured it out. The js is encoded and stored in $js = “big long encoded string here” in the plugin. So I decoded it, snipped out the “rel” and “title” lines, re-encoded it and pasted it back into the plugin. I’m sure this offends some people’s web-standards sensibilities, and rightly so, but clients are clients. Here’s the new encoded js string if anyone wants it:
	var hak_textile_tag_initialized = 0;
	function addEvent(obj, evType, fn){
		if (obj.addEventListener){
			obj.addEventListener(evType, fn, true);

			var r = obj.attachEvent("on"+evType, fn);
			return r;
		} else {
			return false;
		}
	}

	function initQuicktags(identifier) {
		if (!hak_textile_tag_initialized) {
			var getCanvas = document.getElementsByTagName("textarea");

Re: rah_textile_bar
Pinch me, I’m dreaming! This is brilliant – thanks SO much.
I am such a fan of Textile and have seen the utter hideous mess clients make when handed a WYSIWYG-tag-squirter, so I have forced my poor clients to use Textile. This will make me popular and that’s lovely ;-)
Cheers!
At LAST I’ve cheerfully donated to the core devs at #TXP. I only wish I were able to give more. Thanks to the devs and ALL fellow TXPers. -A

Re: rah_textile_bar
ahm, strangely, i still can’t make this extension work. i had tried before with oler txp-versions, right now i upgraded to 4.0.8 (jQuery 1.2.6, PHP Version 5.2.6), still: the button-images do not even display. neither in the write tab, nor in the extension tab. neither in safari nor in firefox. i do not find a difference in code in the write tab, there is no css and no html for the bar.
i’m hosting txp on a regular hosteurope-account. (that did on occasion have problems loading too big txp-plugins, or pinging other servers. apart from that, it seems fine for textpattern.)
so . . . any ideas?
