Adam

Static sections only operate on non-publisher accounts. Are you logged in as a publisher? If so, you won’t see the difference.

That explains it, Steve. Thanks!

That’s odd — same setup I’m using.

The client for this project runs their business on Macs, though, so if it has problems in IE it’s not a big deal for them. :-)

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] sed_section_fields

I have this plugin working fine on one 4.07 site, but not on another. The two sites are on different servers.

The poblem site is a clean installation and I’ve disabled all plugins except sed_plugin_library 0.5.2 and sed_section_fields 0.3.138.

I’ve set per-section prefs in the Sections tab but currently all fields show regardless of section selected in the Write tab.

When I view JavaScript with the Firefox Web Developer toolbar in the Write tab and compare with the site that works there’s one difference:

/textpattern/index.php?sed_resources=sed_sf_write_js for the working site shows var _sed_cf_char = "_";

and on the broken site, var _sed_cf_char = "-"; (a hyphen rather than an underscore)

I’m not sure what to make of that. Could the different server platforms affect anything? Any suggestions appreciated.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] sed_section_fields

I updated two sites to 4.07+ via SVN and lost my sed_custom_fields functionality in the sections page. Could have to do with my exotic admin theme (admin facelift v2) which requires a hacked lib-head.

Any ideas Steve? You can have a login to peek around if you like.

Just like to add that the same thing happened to me – working fine in the 4.07 release but seems to have disappeared from the sections page on a 4.08-rc2 install. Any ideas what might be up?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] sed_section_fields

I am running into several issues that I will try to describe in a table:

version of TXP version of sed_section_fields issues
4.0.7 0.2.112 no issues at all
4.0.8 0.2.112 sed_section_fields fails to work in the “sections” section
4.0.7 0.3.138 entire “sections” section fails to load at all
4.0.8 0.3.138 entire “sections” section fails to load at all

Couple notes:

  1. This was triple-checked across three domains that I own, all hosted on Dreamhost. (I cannot imagine the host making a difference, but I’ve been wrong before.)
  2. Tested in Opera 9.63, FF3 and IE7.
  3. Tried both compressed and uncompressed versions; this did not affect results.
  4. Did not matter whether I had an admin skin in use (which contains an altered txplib_head.php file).
  5. Tried altering the order of the plugins; this did not affect results.
  6. Tried disabling other plugins, but that also did not change the results.

Thoughts?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] sed_section_fields

I’m using txp 4.08 with sed_custom_fields 0.4.8 and I can confirm the plugin does not work properly.
In my case no custom fields or other plugin options (Hide from non-publishers) are showing in the “sections” tab.
The only thing that works is the modified layout of the “sections” tab.

Hi Kevin,

have you installed the sed_library? It’s required on latest sed_section_fields version.

Yes. Did not help. Is there a more recent version than 0.3.138 I can test? Just using what is on Netcarver’s page.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] sed_section_fields

My Sections section still loads, but the plugin’s controls don’t appear; 4.0.8 & v0.3.138

Is it working for anyone under 4.0.8 ?
