From 4.0.4 to 4.0.7: easy upgrade?

Can anybody please confirm whether it is easy to immediately go from 4.0.4 to 4.0.7? Any issues?

Primary obstacle to upgrading 4.0.4 to 4.0.7 has to do with the page templates and forms rather than the upgrade process itself. Many are finding the less forgiving nature of tag attributes formatting and such a bit discomfiting. I would give Page template a read, and the rest of the weblog articles on the new parser as well. It will give you an idea as to where you might anticipate difficulties.

You might as well hang in for a few more days and upgrade to 4.0.8, which should be released soon.

@masa, but will I have to face issues in 4.0.8, because it is so new, which I can avoid while going to 4.0.7? I am not the “tweaking” kind…

I wouldn’t think so. 4.0.8 is a minor bug-fix release so it doesn’t contain any major changes as far as I know. (4.0.7 was just released a few weeks ago.)

Yes, 4.0.8 mostly just fixes several annoying regressions in 4.0.7. The other changes are relatively minor. Waiting for 4.0.8 (or testing 4.0.8RC2) is highly recommended.
