An online academic journal, Mediations
This site, for me, pushed the limits of what TXP is capable of (or at least what I’m capable of making it do!). The texts (which all start out as Word docs) are incredibly long, as web-based media go, and contain a TON of footnotes and other special formatting. Furthermore, the publication is divided up into discreet issues just as a print journal would be, which must maintain their coherency even as new issues are published — totally different from the normal flow of news sites and blogs.
See what you think, especially if you’re interested in modern Marxist philosophy!: http://www.mediationsjournal.org/

I love the look of that site, Nora! I remembered your post about linking to prev and next issues, it looks like you solved it by using articles for the issues and a section ‘toc’, or is there another hidden way you did it?
Edit: ah, finally figured out what the photograph is about! had to notice the title before I could see it… :)

Hi Els –
Nope, you got it. There is a “trigger article” for each issue in the section “toc”, which only contains volume and issue information and some meta data, and then the articles in that issue are called from that trigger article. Seems to work! For me it was a brain-twister until I realized you could do something like that.
Thanks for the compliment on the site.
