Search not Working

Hi

A site visitor has informed me that the search on my site isn´t working.

No matter what is entered, the front page of the site loads.

Anyone got any ideas why this should be …?

I’m not sure how long it hasn’t been working, it’s not something I use.

Still using 4.0.6

Thanks
Geoff

Re: Search not Working

Not much we can do without seeing your page code…? Are you using the default page for your search results?

Re: Search not Working

Assuming you mean the website in your link, the search is working but is also displaying the front-page articles. You would need to play around with <txp:if_search> and <txp:else /> tags in your front-page template so that only search results are displayed. As Jonathan suggests, seeing your template code would be handy.

Re: Search not Working

Thanks Jonathan,

I changed by default page a few months ago.
Seems the search tags weren´t added.

I´ve added them and it works, but the results look terrible.

As I´ve never really paid too much attention to the Search tags in TXP I wasn´t too clear on how results were handled.

I´d like a more Google like layout with pagination not sure if this is possible using the <txp:link_to_… series of tags?

I guess the rest is just CSS
