Subscribe to thread?

Is it possible to subscribe (by email) to a thread? Something like a check box commenters can click to be advised by email when a thread is updated?

Compooter created a plug-in for comment feeds which can be set up for individual articles using an “id” attribute. If you are using 4.0.7 the new “tags-within-tags” ability of the parser would allow you to set a variable tag within a form thus creating a feed for each set of article comments. Don’t know if that would be a suitable alternative for you.
