mem_twitter
This plugin will ping twitter whenever you publish an article. This will only notify twitter when in site is in live mode. The tweet message is configurable and can include both a tinyurl permalink to the article and the article title.
The plugin requires php5, curl and allow_url_fopen=On.

Re: mem_twitter
Am getting an error after installing and activating this plugin:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or ‘}’ in /users/home/mistersugar/domains/mistersugar.com/web/public/textpattern/lib/txplib_misc.php(574) : eval()’d code on line 104
The above errors were caused by the plugin:mem_twitter

Re: mem_twitter
The only thing that could cause a sytax error would be that this plugin needs php5 due to the embedded twitter class.
If you’re not using php 4, can you email me the output on the diag tab?

Re: mem_twitter
memtwitter is now an official twitter app. Posted version 0.2 with a minor fix.

Re: mem_twitter
I’ve got it installed. I posted a new entry to my blog via MarsEdit, but I didn’t see a memtwitter post to my Twitter account. I’ll post to my blog via Txp and see if it works.

Re: mem_twitter
The plugin works off of the ping callback. I’m not sure if MarsEdit ends up calling do_pings()

Re: mem_twitter
I installed the plugin on a PHP5-enabled server, but the following error message shows up: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or ‘}’

Re: mem_twitter
johnnie, your problem exactly matches anton’s. While your server may have php5 enabled, for whatever reason I do not think that Textpattern is actually using it. You can confirm this by going to the Admin->Diagnostics tab.

Re: mem_twitter
I cant seem to get this to work, – I’ve installed it (and activated it!) and checked all the following:
- php Version 5+
- status=live
- curl enabled
- allow_url_fopen=On
- twitter username and password entered correctly in adv prefs
i’ve tried it on txp 4.06 and 4.08 installs and on two servers (php versions 5.14 and 5.16)
I create and publish a post but nothing happens twitterside – I’m stumped. I’d be grateful for any suggestions to further troubleshoot this. TIA

Re: mem_twitter
Hi Michael,
Great plugin!
It would be a very usefull extra to be able to exclude sections.
Will this be possible in future versions maybe?

Re: mem_twitter
The plan is to make it so sections can be excluded and so that it will no longer post messages that are set to be viewable at a future date.
