should more conditions default to current?

I am totally loving 4.0.7. Seriously. I am finding all of these little improvements that are just making my development life less riddled with plugin and forum searches. This is just a quick question to see what developers thought about bring more consistency to the functionality of a few conditionals.

One of my favorite improvements is in <txp:if_article_id>. When no ID is given, it defaults to the currently active article, which helps tremendously in building active states for menus. Can this functionality be extended to <txp:if_section> and <txp:if_article_category>?

Just a thought.

  • txp:if_section would only default to the “current” section when it is used inside a txp:section_list context, I assume?
  • txp:if_article_category currently defaults to resolving the question “is this article assigned to any article category at all”, so changing the default would break existing sites.
