Re: Admin skins

Thanks. Logged in. Its pretty cool! Don’t like the options open by default on the Write tab, but that’s just my preference. Changing styles is fun!

Glad you like it. The open options is just rss_admin_show_adv_opts in play, nothing to do with the skin system. Scratch that, no idea why they’re open. Hmmm. I’m sure it’s nothing in the code. Will check it out, though.

Enjoy.

Re: Admin skins

Hi Stef, Thanks for the login and for adding a much needed feature to textpattern. You rockin’ and a rollin’ !

However, I think you’ve confused the theme jpdupont requested with another one? Is it possible? :-)

Everything’s possible ;-)

I actually downloaded that one first and then followed the link to milkshake’s post. In my skinning naivety I assumed milkshake had merely made it work with 4.0.7. Since that’s clearly not the case (ahem, colour of the top bar should have given it away) feel free to create a new skin and port it over.

Aside from the colours, from a button style and layout perspective, milkshake’s one looks very similar to the one in the picture on graphicpush. So perhaps clone ‘Dan Hoy Port’, copy n paste the textpattern.css file from the graphicpush zip file over the one in the new skin and just replace every reference to tpx_img with ../img.

That’ll get you started (it’s what I did with the Dan Hoy Port) but then you’ll have to compare the current 4.0.7 textpattern.css with that one and insert the new/altered rules (also changing any txp_img references) because the stylesheet has changed quite a bit between releases.

Once you’ve done that, if there are any major changes to the underlying code in tabs.php that are required to make the layout work and you don’t feel comfortable with PHP, give me a shout and I’ll see what I can do to bring the theme to 4.0.7.

Apologies for the mix-up. A shining example of the crevasse between coder mentality and designer mentality ;-)

Re: Admin skins

Stef, it must have been something you decided to do when you went from “admin themes” to “admin skins”.

For the “graphicpush” theme there needs to be a “tabs.php” file under “Code” very similar to the one used by “A Bit Blue” but with my own additions removed. There’s a thread somewhere discussing the differences but I can’t put my finger on it at the moment. If I come across it I’ll add the link here.

Re: Admin skins

Just discovered this thread (thanks wet). Jumped straight to the end. :)
I’ll try and find some time to read through, cuz it looks like this is on to something, and I think I saw wet say “patch.”
