404 Error When Trying to Apply Settings

I get a 404 Not Found error when I try to change the site name or other settings in the Preferences page.

I get redirected to http://mysite.com/textpattern/index.php, which has the 404 in the site’s 404 template.

Might be caused by triggering a security filter. Try to add a .htaccess file in your /textpattern directory (not in the site root!) and add this line:

SecFilterScanPOST Off

If this helps, have a look in your web server error log to locate any helpful error messages related to mod_security or talk to your webhost about establishing proper security settings.
