Sticky articles not included in search?

I’ve just realised that articles I’ve included with status ‘sticky’ to place them in specific locations etc, do not come up in search results. If I switch them to ‘Live, they are searchable. Does anyone know why this is – is this correct, or do i have a fault in my installation (4.0.6)?

UPDATED – sorry, figured it out – need to include ‘searchsticky’ attribute ; )
