Preferences - Advanced - Languages does not load

One of my TXP site is running successfully for a couple of month now. My client has asked me to create languages versions. Before using MLP I would need to install the required languages in TXP Preferences, but I can get a connection to the Languages site when I navigate to it. I tried different browsers, cleaned out cache etc. I can access the “lang” folder via ftp but can go to Preferences -> Advanced -> Languages. Basic and Advanced do work, but just not languages. It seems to try to reach http://www.myssite/textpattern/index.php?event=prefs&step=list_languages
