Random link gets "stuck"
I’m having trouble with a random article link. It works for awhile, randomly displaying an article. But then it gets “stuck,” displaying the same article no matter how many times I click on the link. Or sometimes it will display only two or three articles, always in the same order.
I’m using the method suggested in the FAQ.

How many articles are there? If there only are a few, chances are higher that the same one will be displayed more than once. Random is random ;)
If it happens very often, you can try if it makes a difference if you set ‘send last modified header’ to ‘no’ in advanced preferences.

I find it hard to believe it would randomly pick the same article 20 times in a row :D
I tried changing the preference you suggested, and the problem persists.

A followup for the curious: I tested another copy of the site in MAMP, and it worked fine. The code looked identical in both installations, but I copied and pasted the MAMP code on top of the live site code, and now the live site works as well. I can’t explain it, but hopefully this will help others with troubleshooting.
