Hi,

And sorry for this (too easy) question: I need to upload some pdf files on my page. How to do this?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Re: How Do I upload pdf files?

Do you want to display them or download them?

Re: How Do I upload pdf files?

Mmm. That’s a confusing answer so I will just go with what I think. ;)

To create a simple download link, go to the “Files” tab and you will see a column called “Tags”. There are 3 options available. In general, though not a strict rule, use “Textile” inside an article, “Textpattern” within page or form templates and there is also an “XHTML” option should you require the standard code for any reason. Click on the option you require and you get a pop-up window. Fill in the fields as you require then click the “Build Tag” button and the tag will be displayed underneath. Just copy/paste it to where ever you need it.

If on the other hand you want visitors to be able to view the files “on-line” you just need a link to the file in order to invoke the browser’s built-in Adobe plug-in so something like <a href="<txp:site_url />files/fileName.pdf">LinkText</a>. Vistors should be able to download the file via the Adobe plug-in if they want it.

Re: How Do I upload pdf files?

If you want to associate one or more pdf files to an article I suggest to use the plugin upm_file. This way you can insert a comma separated list of file id in a custom field in the “write” tab and they will show automatically in that article.
