Date Trouble with Transition via SQL Dump

I’ve just moved a site from localhost to a remote server by producing a database dump with PHPmyadmin, then importing it with PHPmyadmin on the destination server. Several articles are refusing to show up, and viewing the article list shows an odd thing about those article’s post dates:

What does this mean, and how do I fix it?

UPDATE: Figured it out — somehow during the transition all of the articles in question wound up in the future. Resetting their post times to the present fixed the issue. I’d still like to know how this happened, if anyone can clue me in. Thanks. :-)
