In textpattern 4.0.6 (full diagnostoc) in article i enter this:

bq(#xxx). text

and get this:

    <blockquote id="xxx">
        <p>text</p>
    </blockquote>

—-
Enter this:

bq(xxx). text

and get this:

   <blockquote class="xxx">
        <p class="xxx">text</p>
    </blockquote>

At http://www.textism.com/tools/textile/index.php it’s working not alike. I except that class\id should be applied only to blockquote tag, not to nested p

Why should it work on Textism? That Textim’s textile install is really old, and should not be used, no more than for historical reasons and possibly quick converting.

I thought Textism could be used as example of right work of textile :) Any way, don’t you think that current example converting is wrong?

Depends on your definition of “wrong”. Anyway, it is converted this way on purpose. Is it doing any harm?

Honestly, the only thing I know about this is that it was introduced in r1842 on Sep 25, 2006 by zem. Maybe this happened as a by-product of this larger change set, and stayed unquestioned until now.
