Unhide a SPAM Comment

Hi,

I was wondering what the procedure is to unhide a comment that was marked as SPAM?

I notice that the comments visible field in the database is marked as -1. Would resetting that to 1 do it? Does anything else have to be done?

Thanks! :)

Re: Unhide a SPAM Comment

Can’t you mark it as something else than spam through the comments tab?

Re: Unhide a SPAM Comment

The “Hide (spam)” option removes them from the comments tab though? I would if I could!

Re: Unhide a SPAM Comment

(I think) There is a checkbox at the bottom of the Comments tab to show comments marked as spam.

Re: Unhide a SPAM Comment

^^ yep, there’s a checkbox which you can ‘uncheck’ to show spam comments as well.

Re: Unhide a SPAM Comment

My clients site does not have this checkbox. Probably because it says there are “No comments recorded.” (The only comments that were added were accidentally marked as spam).

Is it ok to simply change that -1 to a 1 via PHPMyAdmin, does anything else need modified is all I really need to know??

Thanks guys.

Re: Unhide a SPAM Comment

You should also update the comment_count in the textpattern table for the correponding article.
