Re: What are your "Top 10" Textpattern plugins and why?
These make into almost all of my txp installs:
- gbp_permanent_links (for custom permalinks)
- hcg_templates (for exporting and importing pages, forms, styles)
- rss_admin_show_adv_opts (to have the “advanced” portion of the write page open always)
- zem_contact_reborn
- upm_image (images any way you want them)
- lam_image_uploader (upload images from the write tab)
- chh_related_articles (enhances the related articles functionality)
- jk_neighbour (prev/next with more options)
- rah_textile_bar (quick textile buttons)
- glz_custom_fields (unlimited and customizable custom fields)

All my frequently used plug-ins have already been mentioned except for:
tjh_listfilter – persistent filter on ‘Content/Articles’ page that filters article list by Section, Category, author and Status. Invaluable timesaver.

Indispensable especially for larger sites: lam_browse_by

Re: What are your "Top 10" Textpattern plugins and why?
In my vast output of, er, three live TXP-based client sites I’ve used:
- jcb_columnize – newspaper columns
- rss_admin_db_manager – database backup & restore
- upm_insert_tab – too hard to indent without it
- upm_savenew – useful during the developement phase
- zem_ir – easy peasy image replacement
- adi_link – enhanced links
- adi_menu – section menu
- adi_notes – make notes for future generations
- adi_title – meaningful titles in article list, stripped down titles on web pages
I have to declare an interest in the last four – but, after all, I did write them for a reason ….!

Re: What are your "Top 10" Textpattern plugins and why?
In no particular order …
- rss_admin_db_manager (indispensable db tool … makes moving sites from host to host easy … always the very first thing I install)
- zem_contact_reborn (duh)
- cbs_navigation_menu (section-based menu creator; could be done manually, but this is a sweet shortcut that works flawlessly)
- glz_custom_fields + sed_section_fields (in tandem, a fairly solid solution to custom schemas … just need glz_custom_fields to support textareas)
- lam_article_info (adds article ID and work count to the Write page … so simple, and so useful … should be added to core)
- jmd_sitemap (i lobbied for this one months ago and i fished my wish … love it)
- lam_accordion_section (keeps the Section tab nice and tidy)
- rss_thumbpop (i do not build galleries that often, but when i do, this plugin is money)
- gbp_permanent_links (don’t need it often, but when i do, there is no substitute; it’s a love/hate relationship with this plugin, but love tends to win the day)
- glx_hl_current (a cheap hack for determining the current article … will be obsolete with 4.0.7, but for now it works great)

I’ve never heard of this one until now. Nice work; I could use this in a lot of more complicated projects.

tjh_listfilter does the same thing but has the added advantage of being persistent. The filter is still applied when one returns to the article list. I find that to be very useful because I often find myself having to carry out the same action to more than one article in a section or category. Probably wouldn’t be so useful if I always got things right first time ;-).

Thanks for that, very useful indeed.
However lam_browse_by does the same for the images’ listing.
Would be great if this functionality would be integrated into the core.

Re: What are your "Top 10" Textpattern plugins and why?
I could not think of more than seven right now, the more I use textpattern, the more the core system seems enough for most things.
Here we go, with star ratings and all.
| upm_image | ***** | the only way to deal with images in multiple ways |
| tru_tags | **** | been using this more and more |
| asy_wondertag | *** | still waiting for 4.0.7! :) |
| asy_jpcache | ** | still really handy for page caching |
| zem_contact_reborn | ** | obviously |
| wdm_update_url | * | a plugin you feed to a fresh install, more like a TXP fix |
| rvm_if_this_article | * | thinking outside the “Article Form” |
.
and on an unrelated note, I love formatting tables with textile. ;)

Wow, what an interesting list!
- Definitely rss_show_advanced_opts – simple but essential for me
- Related is sed_section fields – show certain custom fields per section
- zem_contact_reborn is indispensible
- asy_wondertag is awesome! Makes the impossible possible
- chh_if_data is very handy
- upm_image can really help customize image display
I agree this is a useful resource to see which plugins are really being used by other TXP developers and to what end.

Bumping a (very) old thread after a search, this thread seems to be the most complete.
rss_show_advanced_opts
jnm_audio
mg_setheader
rah_replace
rah_sitemap
rss_admin_db_manager
rss_admin_show_adv_opts
Thank you to the previous posters for making me aware of some plugins I had no idea even existed!

A few more good ones:
ebl-image-edit / Advanced Image Editing Plugin for Textpattern
pap_contact_cleaner / Prevent Spam through Zem Contact
act_if_mobile / This plugin adds conditional tag to determine, if user is browsing from mobile device, or not > very cool conditional tag that allows you to provide alternative code/content for mobile browsers such as phones or pads
wet_if_page / Conditionally tests for the current page number being member of a list. > very nice to be used with soo_page_numbers. Lets you set conditionals based on the page number you’re on, for example display a certain header only on page 1 of the paginated list…
