Customising Textpattern interface

I want to make writing articles for my client more intuitive, so I need to create forms that are more inline with the content they will be writing. When I say ‘forms’ I mean html forms not Textpattern form, which I find an odd label to use.

Is this an easy task or does it involve alot of hacking? The default standard form for writing articles seems very restrictive and unless you are used to it not intuitive from a users point of view.

Is there a plugin that will allow me to do this?

I’ve used jmd_dashboard to give the user easy access to instructions.

Re: Customising Textpattern interface

Thanks Matt.

Just to clarify, this plugin allows me to place a link within the article that takes the user to the edit form for that article? I can’t quite make out exactly what it does.

Ideally what I would like to do is create a number of html forms with labeled fields that the user can create content for different sections of the site. A different form for each section with different form fields. I have a feeling that I will have to do some major hacking to achieve this

Re: Customising Textpattern interface

I have written a plugin, that does exactly what you want. It’s not intended to be released to the community yet, but you can send me an e-mail if you want to get it. ;)

Re: Customising Textpattern interface

I’m not sure there is an easy way to do what your saying. With jmd_dashboard I was able to show a list of the articles in each section with links to edit those articles. I also wrote instructions explaining how to add an article to the section.

What you are suggestion does make sense, hopefully someone with more knowledge will come along with a suggestion.

Hi chriloi,

I’d love to try your plugin. How do I obtain your email address?

You have to click on “email” under his username. The you can email him via the forum emailer.

Guess because you are a new member you can’t see the email link. Perhaps Christian will see this and comment.
