Re: four little changes for 4.0.7
it’s only a bit related, but anyway:
Am I the only one whos thinks that it is a bit strange that I have to change back from the preview mode to the edit mode to be able to save an article? I wrote something, preview it and the publish-button is gone.
Is there any reason for this or is it just an oversight?

Andreas, I can’t reproduce that (new article, press “preview”, press “text”… publish button still shows.)

Re: four little changes for 4.0.7
i think what aba means is that the publish button should be visible WHILE IN preview mode, without going back to the text tab

Re: four little changes for 4.0.7
indeed.
I think the workflow should be like this:
edit -> preview -> submit
At the moment the workflow is like this:
edit -> preview -> edit -> submit
It’s just a small step, but it is irritating…

Re: four little changes for 4.0.7
That will definitely not happen in 4.0.7. It’s a non-trivial change.

Damn. I was hoping Ruud would come back with a response of… “Done”.
:)
Bugger.

Re: four little changes for 4.0.7
Ruud,
Any decision on the other requests?
Sounded like a no-go on the plugin field enlargement – how about the other stuff?
- add “Title” above the title input field
- add “Body” above the textarea
;)

Robert, what do you think about adding Title/Body labels as proposed?
I don’t object.

I have to admit, I find the preview function rather useless since it uses the admin’s CSS and not the live-site’s. It’s fine to check your Textile formatting, but users are generally puzzled when what they see there doesn’t even remotely resemble the look of the live-page. Previewing to an “invisible” section – although a workaround – is far better.
I wouldn’t miss it if it were removed entirely; the HTML tab only makes sense for geeks. Perhaps these tabs could be made optional?
Labelling the title- and body fields (above) would certainly be a nice touch for end-users.

Martin, from history.txt, ‘Changes in 4.0.7’:
- Write tab: WYSIWYG preview for draft/pending/hidden articles

I can see that the labels have been added in the latest SVN. Very nice, but I’d like to suggest a change to the CSS to make the gaps between the input fields/textareas & the labels more consistent:
textarea { margin-top:5px; }

Looks definitely cleaner than the current tabs.
+1. I just now stumbled upon them, installed them (the 20% opacity version), and I can say they are going to be a permanent fixture in my admin-side now, all else staying the same.
One thing I would recommend, however, is using a sliding doors technique so that tabs can size to the text label rather than all being fixed at one size, needlessly.

Re: four little changes for 4.0.7
So, finally, this set of tabs didn’t make into 4.0.7…
maybe for 4.0.8? :D
