Constant number of articles, want sticky articles to stay on top

Hello everyone,

I would like to show five articles on the front page.

if there are x sticky articles, then the first x articles should be the sticky ones, followed by 5 – x of the most recent “live” articles, in descending order.

I saw the FAQ on the subject (http://textpattern.com/faq/84/how-do-i-keep-a-post-at-the-top-of-the-page) but I don’t think that solution will work for us, because the number of sticky articles will vary, and I want them all to stay on top.

There needs to be only five articles for layout reasons.

Any ideas?
