Creating a Profile site with textpattern.

Very new to text pattern and only used it once for another one of my very basic sites. I am basically setting up a creative arts company and wanted to know if text pattern would be able to handle this sort of thing: http://www.rudeye.com/dancerprofiles.php?view=f

Are there any particular plug-ins out there for creating this?

Thanks,

I’m not sure you would even need a plugin. You can use custom fields for the people information, and set up forms that include the picture. Or are you referring to some functionality in particular that I’m missing?

I agree, it’s pretty standard. There probably would need to be a gallery plugin (and there are plenty of these) to be able to display smaller images below the text information.

Re: Creating a Profile site with textpattern.

No nothing really hidden, just the same kind of effect with an image grid being populated by a profile picture and when you click on the picture it takes you to their profile/article as it were// Also when you click on the different images in the profile there is no page re-fresh, is this also achievable in TXTP?

Thanks,

As Textpattern is a empty canvas, that seems to be just a little javascript script, to be more accurate, jQuery plugin compination and little magic.

With Textpattern you can build anykind of image gallery. If you found some kind nice js script, you can just use it and bang, you have a gallery of it’s own kind. All you need is to display images that is possible with multiple ways by using Textpattern. In example:

  • Create an article and use article images or custom fields.
  • And those compained with any of those plugins that can display multiple article images, including upm_image, hak_article_image and smd_gallery.
