How do you create an archive like this? http://www.hicksdesign.co.uk/journal/archive/

If the section is ‘journal’ then what is archive? and how do you create it and get it to display the archives etc. Is this the reason why Jon uses Tags instead of Categories? So that he can use Cats for the subsections and not get confused with the ones in the journal? x

Re: Archive

I think “journal” is the root of his textpattern installation.

What do you mean by root? Journal is a section, and his work section is the default!

Re: Archive

The way that the URL looks, it might be:

  • The archive page is an article
  • It is scheme (possibly category) made with gpb_permanent_links
  • Or it is just .htaccess rewrite rule.

Re: Archive

I wish they’d get native sub-sections out in a stable public version soon, it’s so essential, all other ways just feel like a hack. x
