Comment Invite

How do i get an comment invite as just the number! It needs to be an actual invite and NOT comments_number tag! Because I want it to link to the comment and NOT just display the number of posts.

To clarify, I want to turn this: Comment [1] into this: 1

and if their are no comments I want it to say 0 as a posed to Comment.

Re: Comment Invite

Could you at somepoint look at the Alphabetical Tag Listing and maybe read (atleast partically) it ;)

With that, we get the magical answer duber number: <txp:comments_count />. Oh, lord reading is hard, isn’t it?

PS. too much ! in my opinion. We hear you with out them, dude. Yaya?

Re: Comment Invite

I actually said in my post that comments_count isn’t the right one, because it just shows the comment count!

Re: Comment Invite

Surround it with link. In example:

<a href="<txp:permlink />#comments"><txp:comments_count /></a>

Re: Comment Invite

Gocom if you were to delete your first post and jut leave the helpful one, you would actually come off as helpful. If you can’t do that maybe just let someone else answer the question. I think he was pretty clear that he was aware of the <txp:comments_count /> tag, just didn’t think to create a link with the #comments

Just a suggestion.

Re: Comment Invite

Gocom,

I vote you leave it. We need more drama around here.

I can’t believe how petty this has become, but for the record my edit was to add some emphasis (as it seemed you missed it)! I mentioned the tag from the get-go, the whole point of my post was that I couldn’t get THAT TAG to do what I wanted! Geez this is a support forum right? OR is it the point a finger and laugh at those who are not total geeks and you just love that you knew the answer when you were born.

Re: Comment Invite

driz, you’ll get used to Gocom, that’s just the way he writes his posts. None of us has been able to teach him some manners, so we’ll have to take him as he is :) He does know an awful lot though… ;)
