Need help with troubleshooting moderation/forum implementation

Hi,

I’m using TXP for a publication index and discussion site. The main idea is that users will be able to post referential data about articles from a variety of publications, and converse about the articles.

Individual product pages at Amazon demonstrate something similar to what I’m trying to accomplish:

  1. Each item has a block of item metadata containing information about the author, publisher, etc.
  2. Each item has associated comments (reviews) published with the item info.

In addition to these, I need to enable visitors to open new discussions by posting article data.

I’ve accomplished the former using custom fields to gather and express the essential information; in addition to title, and body, each root article also uses keywords, category1 and nine custom fields.

Using ign_password_protect, along with mem_self_register, mem_form, and mem_moderation, I succeeded in creating a front-end input form that allows users to input article data and open a new discussion. The main problem with this setup is that articles go into a moderation queue instead of being published directly.

Now I’m inspecting TXPhorum, which offers the benefit of storing responses as article records in TXP, giving me the option to use TXP’s native comment functionality for a separate kind of input.

The problem I’m trying to solve is how to pass custom field data, category1, keywords, and other article data from a front-end input form through TXPhorum instead on mem_moderation and publish it directly. I posted this question on the TXPhorum thread the other day, but it may be that what I’m after would require a significant mash-up of mem_moderation_article, and TXPhorum— there haven’t been any replies.

Any ideas? @Netcarver _et al_— I know you’re good at this. What should I do?

Thanks in advance for your guidance and support!
