Program to store snippet codes

Curious to know if anyone has recommendations for a online or desktop software that can store snippet codes? I’d like to have a place where I can store snippet codes such as commonly used css, txp forms, page templates, etc…

I don’t use it, but Code Snippets by Joyent might be useful.

Re: Program to store snippet codes

For the mac there’s a very simple one based on Adobe AIR (may then actually be platform-independent?) called snippely (more infos on the blog) and a more fancy one called code collector with tagging, code highlighting etc. (and a free lite version). I think several text editors also have snippeting facilities too.

Re: Program to store snippet codes

I’ve been using Evernote for storing code snippets and a variety of other things (I can save driving directions in Evernote on my PC or Mac, and it will show up in Evernote on my iPhone, where I need it). The free version has been plenty for me so far.

Started using Gist since it offers versioning.

Re: Program to store snippet codes

Snippely looks nice…if I had a mac :(

I’ve signed up for Evernote but merely for other stuff besides code since I’m always collecting “stuff” online.

Code snippets by Joyent looks fab so far. I love how we can tag our code and allows us to find similar tags. I see there are other folks using Textpattern and storing their TXP code here as well. Nice added bonus to see what other TXPers are storing here http://codesnippets.joyent.com/tag/textpattern . Too bad we can’t search for tags though.

Ttttext files :). Or store them as snippets in your text editor.

Actually, Snippely runs on Adobe AIR, so it can run PC or Mac.

Re: Program to store snippet codes

I don’t really have a recommendation for a private snippet app but for any of you interested in sharing snippets publicly our website snipplr rocks. We and the world would appreciate your snippet contributions.
