Problem with Txp4.0.6 and Xampp1.6.7 (winxp)

I wanted to setup a local txp install on a new computer, but sofar I have faled miserably. I did this before and never had any issues. I’m fairly certain this must be a xampp or browser Problem, but I hope anyone here can kick me into the right direction.

I have a fresh xampp install.

Passwords for localhost\Xampp and mysql are set.

The Textpattern folders were copied to d:xampp\htdocs\txp\.

I created a database and named it txp.

Everything seemed to be fine until then. But now things are getting wierd.

Parsing hello_world.php copied to htdocs/txp/ works as expected.

If I open localhost/txp/index.php I get a message “Database unavailable”. That’s fine, because txp has not been set up until now.

But If I view source, I find a strange comment inside:

<!— Access denied for user ‘s11res2_patrick’@‘localhost’ (using password: YES) —>

The strange thing is, that as far as I know the s11res2 part of the user is identical to the path of one of my webservers.

If I open localhost/txp/textpattern or localhost/txp/textpattern/setup all I see is part of the php code and thats it. The code is not parsed…

Disabling or deleting cookies didn’t work so far.

Any ideas?

Greetings pepebe

Have you followed the setup procedure using the /textpattern/setup URL to create the config.php file?

As I wrote, if I open localhost/txp/textpattern or localhost/txp/textpattern/setup all I see is part of the php code and thats it.

Have a look at a screenshot at imageshack: http://img511.imageshack.us/img511/5716/texptatternsetuphz7.png

The code is not parsed. :(

I have never seen anything like that before…
