Help! "paths should not match"

I’m in the process of installing textpattern and I just got past the step where I resave/write the config.php file.
Now when I login to the admin panel and click on diagnostics, here’s the error I get:

Pre-flight check

Temporary directory path and Plugin cache directory path should not match.

I’m using a virtual dedicated server, where is the problem happening!? please help :)

Re: Help! "paths should not match"

Generally, read this first

FTP to/var/www/vhosts/mydomain.com/httpdocs and change the permissions on the images and files folders to 777. Ensure that you have a folder tmp there too and set its permissions to 777 too.

Go to the TXP admin interface, Admin>Preferences>Advanced and ensure that the paths settings to the Images, Files and Temporary folders are correct. Usually “images” and “files” are enough of an entry for those folders but you may wish to add the whole “/var/www/vhosts/mydomain.com/httpdocs/tmp” for the Temporary folder. If you don’t intend to begin writing plug-ins right away leave the Plugin cache directory path blank. Save these settings and you should be in good shape.

777 permissions are not the best and you should try and ease these back down to 755 to see if that will work for the 3 folders. It depends on your host though and often only 777 will work.

Good luck.
