Re: [archived] scs_crumbs: Breadcrumbs

I like Home > Section > Article

The way I see it the category isn’t really a navigational section. It isn’t really useful way to show a user where they are with relation to the home page.

Categories are a way to sort articles that live in a certain section.

Breadcrumbs point to where the article lives which is no deeper than the section you find it.

But of course there are many ways that people like to structure their breadcrumbs and the only way to really get a good idea is to actually test users of your site and see what works best for them.

Re: [archived] scs_crumbs: Breadcrumbs

In addition to alicson posting (“…You are here: »Title » Article”)

how to make articles title last word in breadcrumbs

example: I have the article “my works” in “about me” section (no categoties in this section). So, I want this:

home > about me > my works

(the title “my works” should not to be a link in crumbs)

Re: [archived] scs_crumbs: Breadcrumbs

(I’m going to write a breadcrumbs plugin after I finish cleaning up my site’s CSS)

Re: [archived] scs_crumbs: Breadcrumbs

here’s what I came up with. This should alleviate some problems, etc. Only thing that’s missing (currently) is the article name.
