Re: EBL_Upload

Do you think it would be possible to place it right at the top in the Images tab, just above the image listing, perhaps as an expandable container?

I would think that’s where most users would expect it.

Re: EBL_Upload

Hey Eric,

Is there anyway – even though it requires flash – to have it work somewhat like this example ?
instead of “upload images” it could just say “batch upload” like it does now. When clicked the visibility of the controls gets toggled.

Additionally, I would love a pref that allowed me to hide the default TXP image upload stuff when EBL_upload is enabled.

Probably asking too much here – but mrdale asked for a pony once and got it.

Re: EBL_Upload

It is possible, but I’m not sure if I’m comfortable adding more Admin features to an already cluttered screen. Add to that the fact that this isn’t just an image-upload application anymore. I’m not sure. Opinions, anyone?

It isn’t? What else can it do besides upload images? New features – or have I been missing something good all along?

New Feature as of 2.0 : Ability to upload and import images, as well as files. The accepted file-types are also configurable. (ex: *.zip = ok, *.exe = not-ok )

Re: EBL_Upload

My concern with giving it it’s own tab is that you get duplicate places for users to accomplish uploads. From a usability standpoint it sounds like this would be better broken up into 2 plugins. One for images and one for files. Both of which would function from inside their respective tabs (right where the current controls are).

To me that provides a significant upgrade in features for the user – without the need to retrain.
I still like these ideas

Exciting!
In that case it either deserves its own tab or perhaps the popup window might be better after all. Now we have a link that says Batch Upload in the Images tab. I suppose you were thinking of adding a similar link to the Files tab then?!

And the popup window would either open with the images- or files options depending on what was clicked.

Re: EBL_Upload

on 2nd thought – just one plugin that could add bulk features to both tabs would rule.
short of that – I guess a pop-up would be better than a tab.

The problem with that is, it would be essentially the same-exact plugin with a minor tweak to allow for file-types.
