Adding/modifying date formats

Is it possible to amend or modify the existing date formats?

I would like the date displayed as 27.07.2008, but the closest I can get with the presets is 27.07.08

Any pointers would be very much appreciated.

strftime and format-attribute can do it:

<txp:posted format="%d.%m.%Y" />
