Membership registration and accounts

Hi,

Anyone know if Textpattern can handle the management of Membership accounts and Registered profiles?

In a way similar to Expression Engines method: http://expressionengine.com/docs/cp/admin/members_and_groups/index.html

Not exactly. You can have membership with a couple of plugin, namely ign_password_protect and mem_self_register series. They work, but have some limitations that you have to work around (not exactly exists a member profile, but you can achieve it in some alternative ways, using a section to mantain user profiles or using plugins). It all depends on your needs.

Sorry to grave dig this thread, it’s very much on the subject I was going to ask about.

If you use ign_password_protect and mem_self_register is it possible for a registered user to be able edit/update their comments?

Also do you know of a plugin that would allow a registered user to assign an avatar to themselves which would then appear in any comments they post? Either one that is uploaded to the site or externally linked would do.
