One potential disadvantage is that the article body would have to be in HTML or textile, wouldn’t it?
If one were typing all this into a spreadsheet for bulk upload, it’d be easy to make a lot of errors. But this method would be great better for moving an existing site over to Txp.

azw, it would depend on the plugin – ideally it would allow for selectable columns.

Yeah Textile in Excel would be a little extreme. Selectable columns, minus body-Textile.
I fear I’ve been suckered into another plugin…stay tuned :).
