Not directly as the translator; I’m not a native speaker and am not fluent enough to do a reasonable job. However, what I could do is try to find someone here who could do it — and just take on the role of “editor” or “compiler” so-to-speak.

What about having language related “first-post”? I mean, that if i selected Russian install at the first install screen i will be happy to find first-post in russian.

Re: [Obsolete] Translating Textpattern to ...
Hello.
I have completed and corrected the spanish (es-es) translation. The version that I propose is at: http://blog.pompilos.org/files/es-es.txt. I haven’t assigned it a different version number, because I don’t know who coordinates version and subversion numbers. I have saved the file as “Unicode”, is it OK?
Bye.

Hello.
My friends in here, Hungary updated the transalation to be ready for 4.0.7. I uploaded it to: http://textpattern.hu/files/hu-hu.txt
It’s also UTF-8 encoded. Thanks for update! (If any problems are with this, just send me a message…)
Bye

Re: [Obsolete] Translating Textpattern to ...
I have completed again the Spanish traslation in order to cover the 4.0.7 version of Textpattern. My proposal can be downloaded from http://blog.pompilos.org/files/es-es.txt. This one includes many tags who lack in the official Spanish version. Can anyone upload my version to the RPC server? Thanks.

Re: [Obsolete] Translating Textpattern to ...
Hello. I am still improving the Spanish traslation (there were more errors than I supposed at first sight).
In the meantime, I have detected an error in the original version “en-gb.txt”. At some sentences used in the tab “Presentation > Sections” the question mark is absent (lines 869 and 870 by example). The author of that sentences supposed all languages use a final question mark, and thus he embeded the final question mark in the PHP code of Textpattern, instead of putting it in the “en-gb.txt” file.
But actually many languages use other question marks (greek does, by example), while Spanish uses initial and final question marks. ¿Could someone correct the “en-gb.txt” and PHP code in order to solve this minimal error? Thanks.

Re: [Obsolete] Translating Textpattern to ...
Hello, wet.
I have found another “bug” when I was localizating the Spanish language file.
I am now running my own translation installed “From archive”. Quite all the sentences of my Textpattern installation have been substituted by the new locatization archive. But there are some sentences who didn’t update. That is the case of the sentences at “Presentation > Pages” who toogle (appear and disappear) when you click on the tags of the left column. Because of that I am not able to check if the new translated sentences do the actions they are supposed to do.
I suppose that there is a problem in the “installation from archive” feature, and that these sentences will be updated when the new translation would be downloaded from the official repository. But I am not really sure of that.
Do you have any idea about it? Is it a bug?

Re: [Obsolete] Translating Textpattern to ...
Hi
I am trying to edit the language I have installed “Spanish”
Because in the Write section I want to change some things like “Title” to “Name” for my client, and some other things?
Where is the file that controls all this?
I found en-gb.php but that is English, and I have installed the Spanish version of 4.0.8
Any one can tell me in what folder is the file that is controlling those names?
Thanks!

Re: [Obsolete] Translating Textpattern to ...
Language informations are kept in the db so open phpmyadmin, go to the “txp_lang” table, search for the term to translate and modify it. It’s easier to do than to explain, and remember if you mess up something you only need to udate the language through txp (preferences -> languages)

Remember that this also means that with every language update your changes will be lost!

True! So another thing to remember is to take note of every term you modify in case of accidental update disaster ;)
