How to creating a template or assigning my own design to Textpattern

Hi all, I’ve been trying hard to find a way how to create a template or to assign my own design to Textpatter, but found now step by step guide to it.. Could someone please help me?? I have not been able to even add my own pics to the blog, such a shame, don’t know what I’m doing wrong! Is there like a book, a tutorial or anything out there, which could take me through the steps? Thank you all!!

Documentation is one of the sticking points of TXP. There is a book if you like learning from books better, like I do.
Pointing you to the right sites/pages where you can learn is of course depending on what you found inappropriate, on the knowledge you have about XHTML and CSS, where your problems are and what exacxtly you want to achieve, though there is not too much stuff covering exactly “templating”, I fear.

Or can you make friends with using existing templates?

In any case reading some any documentation will be of use: Try some of the links in “TXP Network Links”, top right corner of the forum, esp. Textbook.

Re: How to creating a template or assigning my own design to Textpattern

I mock up my txp templates in a visual editor first (Golive or Dreamweaver) using dummy content for the parts that later will contain the dynamic content as created by txp.

Once the template and css are ready and validated, I replace the dummy content with txp’s dynamic tags – works really well.
