Oh, and JM> minor point. It needs to play nice with hak_tinymce, sed_section_fields and upm_save_new.

It will – the write tab is only affected by the link to the thickbox. Did you want the “Insert image” link as the first link in the left column, above adv options, or elsewhere?

Sure that would be great. in fact you could even have “image selector” as a peer level with “advanced options” so that the select can be collapsed if you like.

Nuts – I think I need a mockup! I dumped the category select into the thickbox itself:

Love it! It’s about as simple as it gets. I agree with mrdale – ditch the TXP interface stuff.
…and if I was good at book learnin’ and readin’ and such…I’d have realized it was what mrdale asked for to start with.
I get all carried away with my fancy pants bells and whistles. : )
Once you get this prototype done…would you still consider adding some of the other ideas the previous posts?

I know I’ve been really slacking on any new plugins. I have like 50 TXP plugins I want to write rumaging around in my head. I just need the time to do it. I told Matthew I’m not allowing myself any new ideas until I actually build one of the ones I already thought of.
Although if I wait long enough people just build them for me :)

Last I heard it wouldn’t happen until Crockery…unless the devs have changed their minds?

Definitely – I think it’ll be “toggleable,” with “simple” being the image-only view (only for article images) and “advanced” being the table from your mockup (with insert into body, as a thumb, etc).
