Will do – were you able to test this version? Just curious if the fcgi thing squashed :).

Re: jmd_rate: A CSS star rater
When I installed that version what showed up on the page was a bulleted list that said:
* Currently rated out of 4. * 1/4 * 2/4 * 3/4 * 4/4Nothing happened when I clicked on the links, but it looked screwed up so I have temporarily removed it from the form.

Re: jmd_rate: A CSS star rater
Whoops…forgot to mention it’s intentionally unstyled (temporary). If you head to Extensions>jmd_rate, does anything show up in the ratings table?

Re: jmd_rate: A CSS star rater
Once I found the jmd_rate tab and clicked install it did. I get an entry in the table but what shows up on the page doesn’t seem to indicate the current rating.

Re: jmd_rate: A CSS star rater
Hey :)
I saw on your demo page “Highest rated articles” but how can i put it on my site with my highest rated articles?
I thought this is the code, but it doesnt work for me :(
<pre>
<txp:hide>Page or form template:</txp:hide><br />
<ol>
<txp:jmd_rate_article form=“highest_rated” max_value=“10” min_value=“8” section=“articles” /><br />
</ol></p>
<p><txp:hide>Article form: highest_rated</txp:hide><br />
<li>
<txp:permlink>
<txp:title/>
</txp:permlink>:
<txp:jmd_rate>
<txp:jmd_rate_rating/>/<txp:jmd_rate_max/>
</txp:jmd_rate><br />
</li>
</pre>
And 2. Question,
everytime im rating an articles i get to the single view, but is it possible to stay in the article list while rating?
P.S.: Sorry for my bad english :)

lous – that code should work for the highest rated articles. What version are you using?
everytime im rating an articles i get to the single view, but is it possible to stay in the article list while rating?
Not yet. I haven’t had a chance to work on this plugin in awhile, but I’ll try to get an Ajax-ed version up sometime (just got back from vacation).

Re: jmd_rate: A CSS star rater
hi. i just tried to install v0.4b1 on textpattern 4.0.8 and its showing this:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or ‘}’ in mysite.com/html/textpattern/lib/txplib_misc.php(570) : eval()’d code on line 134
The above errors were caused by the plugin:jmd_rate
what is wrong?

Re: jmd_rate: A CSS star rater
Howdy! I’m using this on my development server before I deploy it on the live site. I installed and activated v0.4, and found the jmd_rate tab under “Extensions”, where I installed the database table for ratings. Then I added the Example syntax to my default article form, verbatim.
When I load an article form, I see this:
This article hasn’t been rated.
Currently rated
• 1/4 [link: /page?rating=1]
• 2/4 [link: /page?rating=2]
• 3/4 [link: /page?rating=3]
• 4/4 [link: /page?rating=4]
If click on any of the rating links (/page?rating=x
), the browser redirects to /page
without logging a vote to table.
This site is currently using Textpattern version 4.0.8 with PHP version 5.2.6 and MySQL 5.0.41. Fast CGI is not active on the dev server I’m using, but I do use it on my publish server.
At this point, I’m not concerned about the styles— I think I can build some CSS using your example after I get it functioning.
What I’m concerned about is the failure to add a new entry to the jmd_rate database when clicking on the rating links. My question is, what steps can I take to identify the root of the problem and resolve it?
Thanks!

Re: jmd_rate: A CSS star rater
Any ideas on this? Did you need more information, like what plugins are installed? I see TXP 4.0.6 is “required” and I was using 4.0.8— would that make a difference? I recently created a sandbox version of the site to test it with 4.2.0, and this issue persists.
Please let me know what ideas you have, if any, or if you need any diagnostic info.
Thank you again!
