Resize image and creating thumnail while uploading

Hello all,

I’m looking for a plugin (or better a hack of txp_image.php) that could automaticaly resize uploaded image to e.g. 500px (longest side). And could make a thumbnail.

Now I use glx_admin_image. Yes it’s great plugin, but now I have to upload the image, then click it again and then resize it by pushing the button. For me, it’s easy and quick way, but try to explain this to some common computer (non-)user. I need something like this:

My Top 5 Textpattern Hacks 1. Automatic Resize & Thumbnails If you have images on your site then you want this hack. A replacement for your txp_image.php, the hack does just what it says, automatically resizes pictures to the dimensions of your choice and creates a thumbnail. A real time saver and indispensable in my book.

For short: When I upload an image, the uploaded image would be immediately resized.

Thank you all
Hynek

Re: Resize image and creating thumnail while uploading

fpx_image_import offers both this plus batch import (images selectable via checkbox, or a whole folder, pre-categorizable by giving it the according name)

Regarding FTP: If you or your client is a Mac user, there’s a Dashboard widget for Cyberduck (ftp client) with drag’n‘drop capability. Such functionality is possibly available for PC, too.

Re: Resize image and creating thumnail while uploading

Thanks for post.
But sorry, I can’t explain functionality of FTP to such people. (I hope you undestand.) It really must be easy-to-use :-(
BTW Apple doesn’t expand to Czech Rep. so here there is a 0,x % of Mac users.

gfdesign, I am using EBL_Upload (http://www.ericlimegrover.com/) — although it costs 10 USD per licence, it is great and easy-to-use plugin, I recommend it
