Implementing A Business Directory (Directory tab) Section

Forgive me, I’m brand new to TXP.

If I have a site geared towards a topic like “agribusiness” (fishing, farming, etc.), I’m aware of how fairly easy it is to show sections, categories, and articles on the home page. Okay, so now let’s say I want to add a tab called “Directory” and want to let users submit their business and some can pay me to get their listing promoted to the top of categories or on keyword search relevancy? How would you go about implementing that with TXP?

For instance, I could create a new CMS page called Directory. I believe TXP, if I’m not mistaken, has a way to classify articles on a page by categories. So, the category table per page is already there. Then, the articles underneath could be the bios about each business, and I could build a custom gadget in the CMS that lets one submit their own bio and choose to pay for it (PayPal BuyNow button is easiest). So, the only thing I’d have to build in PHP, I’m thinking, would be the fancy category chooser gadget for this page, and a “submit business” form.

What are your thoughts?
