config.php has to be on the same server as the rest of the TXP scripts, because those scripts read/include the config.php script during execution. It does help however to make config readable only to the user that installed TXP and the username of the webserver process (if they are different).

Oh d…, I wasn’t aware any more of config.php! I personally wouldn’t call TXP a script, although this’ll be the correct term for it. I meant a db-backup script recommended rather often.

When I change permissions for config.php from 644 to 640 the page cannot be opened anymore. How then should permissions be set for it?

Is there a way to make the file just readable by the server owner without breaking txp?
