upm_quick_write: beta testers needed
Interested in testing out this little concoction? I need help making sure it works, as well as any suggestions for documentation.
Keeping in mind the plugin is still somewhat raw, so if something explodes, you’ve been pre-warned and you can’t come after me. :D
If you’re interested, let me know.
Thanks, I’ve got all the testers I need for now. :)

Some thoughts – what about admin-side plugins which affect write tab? For example rss_unlimited_categories?
P.S. I can be beta-tester :) Email is sent

If you would like to test against the latest svn I’m just setting up an install to look at the most recent changes, I’d love a chance to look at this as well.

Re: upm_quick_write: beta testers needed
Victor: The idea is that the plugin is intended to be for quick article creation. Thus, what other plugins it supports will depend on:
- how necessary they are to quick article creation (this plugin isn’t and won’t be for article editing)
- how many folks use the plugin coupled with how difficult they are to integrate (As a warning: some plugins may require their authors to re-tool them so that other plugins like mine can “hook into” their functionality, before I can do anything. We’ll figure out what those are as we go along.)
Folks could “nominate” these plugins as we beta test, or at a later date. :)
I can see the specific plugin you mention as being a good candidate, so I will look into adding it. At present it is not supported.
Thanks folks, I will be emailing all that contacted me the plugin as soon as possible. :)

In most cases if rss_uc is used than standart categories are not in use. Then, assigning category to the article is done by rss_uc select menu, nor usual. I don’t think that it’s hard to implement support – select menu is added via javascript and it’s the aim is to show js where it should place his menu
P.S. What about adding support of Opera Mini? Current article edit tab doesn’t work with Opera Mini – i think because of some javascript dependences – Opera Mini Simulator

Re: upm_quick_write: beta testers needed
Using Opera 9.27, IE6 and Firefox3 in Linux, it seems to all be working. The url-only field protrudes to the right in all three and looks the worst in Opera. Just narrowing it would improve it.
I expected the advanced options link to roll up or drop down that part but it was open in all three. Similarly the Continue Writing link doesn’t seem to do anything.
Personally, I can’t see how I would ever use this plugin. I cannot see how it is any easier or quicker than going straight to the Write tab and writing the article there. Having said that Shift F11 in Opera gives a view that simulates a mobile and the plugin looks far better than the Write tab in that view. And going slightly off-topic, developers should look at this view and realise that the layout or order of the admin pages and page templates is far from desirable.

@zero: While I agree about the part that the default admin theme looks horrible, I disagree with your opinion about this bookmarklet being not useful. I have 2 large sections on my site which get frequent updates:
- Blog: these are longer posts that I’ll always write offline, or in the full-blown adminscreen.
- Links: I try linking to as much as possible, but unfortunately time isn’t on my side. Opening a new tab, entering the url and loading the entire page takes too much time for just a link. With this bookmarklet, I just hit my bookmarks bar (which is always visible), press paste for the url and add a quick description. I agree that it isn’t useful in every case, but for me, it fits like a glove :-)
