[request] customized/generated excerpts

I am looking for something like Livejournal where I type in the article then the link text that will be linked to excerpt then some more of the article in the body.

If I understand correctly, you’re looking for plugins like rvm_substr or rss_auto_excerpt.

Hm, I was thinking like putting in a tag in the article of where I would want the link to the excerpt to show. For example, I have Paragraph 1 then the link to the excerpt then Paragraph 2.

I don’t understand what are you trying to achieve.

You don’t usually link to excerpts, but the other way. You have a excerpt, and then a link to the full version of the article.

I don’t understand, do you really mean a link to a separate page displaying the excerpt?
If you just want to display the excerpt between two paragraphs you can do this in the article body:

First
paragraph
here.

 <txp:excerpt />

Here the
next paragraph.

rss_auto_excerpt has an option to automatically use the first n paragraphs as an excerpt.
